MI SWACO receives cargo hold cleaning order for Norwegian national oil supply vessel

Statoil has long been looking for ways to clean its supply vessels for safer and more efficient operations.

It is reported that MI SWACO has developed a new technical solution not long ago.

A few days ago, the company received a contract awarded by Norwegian National Oil, valued at approximately NOK 500 million, and an additional alternative priority contract. Norwegian National Oil's supply vessel has not used this technology before, but MI SWACO used the technology in its own fleet, this time MI SWACO company commercialized the technology.

The supply vessel mainly uses the cargo tanks below the deck to transport chemicals. The technical solution includes an automated system that eliminates the need for manual access to the cargo compartment for cleaning and increases personnel safety. The rinse water and foam used can also be recycled, only the real waste is washed away, reducing time and cost.
