The delegation visited the Zakkar refinery and heard an expert from the Natural Resources Agency of Jordan on the storage distribution and development prospects of its oil shale. The delegation introduced in detail the Sinopec/LPEC oil shale technology, the current status of international oil shale technology, the cooperation between Chinese and foreign patent companies, and put forward suggestions for Jordan oil shale development.
The delegation stated that Sinopec is fully capable of undertaking the engineering design, equipment procurement and construction management of retorting and shale oil refining. The party also expressed its hope that Sinopec Group will participate in project financing and cooperative development. The visit not only expanded the influence of Sinopec Group Company and Luoyang Petrochemical Company on the use of oil shale, but also demonstrated the Sinopec's refining technology strength as an internationally renowned large company.
