Which items to check for overhaul of diesel generator sets

When a diesel generator set fails, the maintenance engineer usually repairs the generator set . Usually, major repairs and minor repairs are required. What are the major inspections?

The diesel generator was disassembled and all parts were disassembled and then cleaned.

The different systems of the crew are inspected and all pipelines are also inspected. If any of the pipelines are found to be clogged, the plugs need to be removed.

Parts that have suffered severe damage are subject to replacement and the joints of the internal parts of the unit must also be inspected.

The tightness of the parts, if there is a leak, then we must find out the cause of the leak and ensure its tightness.

After the inspection is completed, all parts are reinstalled and the performance is tested again.
