Yuchai won the Second National Science and Technology Progress Award for the Year Related Technology Applied Multi-type Products

On January 8, 2016, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. A total of 295 projects won the National Science and Technology Award. Among them, Yuchai involved in the project "Diesel Engine low noise design key technologies and applications" won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award . This is the third time that Yuchai has hosted and participated in the project and won the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

The project is jointly undertaken by three units including Tianjin University and Yuchai. According to Shen Jie, senior technical consultant of Yuchai, one of the project's founders, Yuchai participated in the technical research of the project and made important contributions to the application of technology.

The results of the project creatively proposed a torsional vibration damper plus frequency damper composite damping; using exhaust gas recirculation to suppress diesel transient combustion noise; combined with the powertrain overall modality, mass, inertia distribution characteristics of the suspension system and Structural optimization design; methods for calculating the insertion loss of exhaust gas particulate filter for internal combustion engines, etc., effectively reduce engine transient combustion noise and structural vibration noise.

The results of this project have been applied to four models, such as YC6L and YC4F, and have achieved good economic and social benefits.

Prior to this, Yuchai’s “Key Technology and Industrialization of Energy-saving and Environment-friendly Diesel Engines” won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2012, and Yuchai and Tsinghua University and other units jointly completed the project “High-pressured key technologies and engineering applications for all conditions of the internal combustion engine. "Acquired the second prize of 2013 National Science and Technology Progress Award.
