Recently, Castrol announced that it has introduced a new cylinder oil, Cyltech ACT, designed specifically for use in ships with low sulfur fuels in the Emission Control Area (ECA).
This new lubricant is a custom-designed cylinder oil that helps ship operators successfully manage the shifting of operational modes in pollution emission control zones.
Paul Turner, vice president of marine and energy operations at Castrol, said, "New regulatory requirements, changes in engine design, ship operations and alternative fuels are all challenges customers face. Castrol has always been efficient for large two-stroke engines. Cylinder lubrication."
Cyltech ACT uses dust control technology to minimize dust and protect critical parts of the engine. The new products will be launched to Singapore and US ports in the first quarter of 2016, and other countries and ports will be available in 2017.
