ZF expects revenue from Asia to grow

The German supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG will increase the supply flow between companies in its Asian region to consolidate its position in the automotive industry in the region.

By June 2010, the new Asian headquarters and an engineering technology research center will be opened in Shanghai. ZF spokesperson Andreas Veil said in an e-mail to reporters: "We plan to open the headquarters in June 2010."

The total construction area of ​​the first phase of the project is 11,000 square meters, including facilities that can accommodate more than 300 employees.

With continued economic growth in China and India, ZF (ZF) expects revenue to increase in the Asia Pacific region. Veil said: "Yes, our income in Asia will increase, especially China and India will become more and more important."

The region generated revenue of 1.8 billion euros, an increase of 13% compared to 2007. This figure represents 14.4% of ZF's global income (12.5 billion euros).
